If you’re looking to enjoy a season in the mountains, then Glenshee offers the ideal opportunity to work where you play! Our season generally commences around late December and runs until Easter, but can be longer or shorter depending on snow cover.
We commence our recruitment programme in November and successful applicants then await notification of a start date. The date depends on the arrival of snow and employees should make themselves available as soon as possible after that.
Accommodation is in short supply, but we do try to advise on the best options available. The nearest village is Braemar (9 miles) to the North and to the South there are many small hamlets and villages towards the town of Blairgowrie (26 miles). Staff transport is available from both Braemar and Blairgowrie.
Staff are provided with a free lift pass and lift operators are provided with a uniform. A discount of 50% is offered on ski and snowboard hire and special staff prices are available in the cafes. Transport is provided by mini bus to and from work from the surrounding areas. Working hours are generally 40 hours per week, 8.30-5.00pm, over seven days, with two days off.
To assist and operate the network of 23 lifts and tows. Responsibility for checking lift tickets, helping customers on the lifts and ensuring their safety. Good communication skills - both with the public and other employees - are essential.
Equipment Hire Assistants
To assist with fitting of skis, snowboards boots, binding adjustments and maintenance etc. Experience preferred (600 sets of skis and 200 snowboards and boots).
Equipment Hire Key Board Operators
Cashiers to operate computerised hire system. Typing skills essential.
General Assistants to assist with various duties including food preparation, clearing tables and cashiering. We're also looking for Cooks to cater for our three cafes and restaurants.
Ticket Office Assistants
Cashiers to operate computerised system selling lift tickets. Keyboard skills preferred for limited number of positions.
