The Glenshee Mountain Bike Track is approx 3.2 kilometres long and is accessed by the Cairnwell chairlift. The track is a cross mountain track blue in grading with 2 uphill sections and takes about 10 minutes to ride. The bikes are placed on a bracket next to you on the single chair and there are lift attendants at top and bottom to help you off and on. The track is not as fabricated as forestry commission sites and there are no trees along the route but you get the feel of real mountain biking. The track is used by walkers and estate vehicles please give way and respect these users.
Riders are advised to wear helmets gloves and other protective clothing.
Planning has been granted on the condition that cyclists do not stray from the track due to Sites of Special Scientific Interest close by. Any further development of mountain biking at Glenshee may be compromised by non adherence to this request.
There is an abundance of unique flora and fauna adjacent to the track and if you are lucky you can spot Ptarmigan, Mountain (Blue) hares, Doteral, Red and Roe deer, Red Grouse plus many mountain/alpine plants.
